Draftsperson

_**Main responsibilities and duties include**:_
- Produce high level designs and drawings in 2D and 3D CAD software to customer specifications and needs
- Provide technical workshop drawings accurately using CAD software (Revit, AutoCAD, Autosketch) within designated time frames
- Prepare documentation for planning permission and building approvals and liaise with the appropriate government authorities (I.e. Shires) to gain such permission and approvals
- Work closely with Manager Construction and Sales to provide appropriate costing of sheds/structured designed to support quoting process
- Work closely with Manager Design and Fabrication to ensure drawings are delivered on time and with the necessary instruction to the fabrication team
- Collaborate with welders on any questions regarding technical drawings
- Manage and maintain project documentation and drawings register
- Ensure standards, legislation and industry best practice is adhered to
- Actively contribute to research and development initiatives regarding shed design
- Periodically analyse the design process, including software, and make suggestions for improvement in an effort to increase efficiency and quality
- Other duties as required

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of an Advanced Diploma in Drafting
- Valid C Class drivers licence, LR or HR class licence advantageous

**Experience**:

- Experience in producing steel fabrication workshop drawings, or similar, using CAD software
- More than 5 years' experience in building/construction or similar industry
- Familiar with structural computations
- Working knowledge of Australian drawing standards and local town planning requirements
- Experience in welding and fabrication of steel structures, advantageous

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Subcontract

Pay: $75,500.00 - $95,000.00 per year
