Analyst

**The Opportunity**:
ENGIE ANZ is looking for an action and results oriented Analyst to produce analysis, provide support developing models and running models. The outputs of these models are used to inform contracting decisions across our Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) ANZ business. This is a 12 month fixed term contract role.

The Analytics team is a centre of excellence within our business and develops market insights and quantitative models to optimise dispatchable assets, forecast customer consumptions, risk manage positions, assess long term prices, value hedging product and shape strategy.

The role will be accountable to the Manager Analytics and can be worked flexibly from home and from our new Southbank office.

Reasonable requests for part time work will be considered.

**Responsibilities**:

- Engage with the Spot Trading, Forward Trading, Portfolio and Commercial teams to develop and support quantitative tools for Australian gas and electricity physical and contract markets
- Support the development, maintenance and quality control for quantitative models including load forecasts, asset operation optimisation, contract, option and complex products valuations.
- Ensure that the analytical work is complete to a high standard and on time, while regularly communicating the status of the project to Manager Analytics
- Review external reports from market bodies and consultants and provide insightful summaries to internal stakeholders.
- Run analytics and data processes for internal stakeholders ensuring accuracy and timeliness

**About you**:
To be successful in this role, you will bring forward your technical programming skills. Experience in SQL, Microsoft Excel and coding in R and Python will be well regarded.

You will be an excellent analytical thinker and problem solver and thrives in work that has you contribute to the development of models, tools and techniques that have not been done before.
