**Key focus & responsibilities**
You will play a vital role in the safety, efficiency and profitability of our main site in Knoxfield. The Production Planner will support production and engineering staff across 3 shifts. You will also work closely with our supply chain teams to maximise customer service and inventory efficiency.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
- To drive business safety through achievement of zero harm culture and championing “rules to live by”.
- Review customer supplied production details for completeness, clarity and compatibility to mill capability.
- Liaise with customer service and operations in regard to compliance with standard service offer, availability of capacity to fulfil urgent orders and/or capability of mills to manufacture non-standard products.
- Liaise with inventory staff on issues of abnormal demand, stock availability and raw material yield & accuracy
- Identify opportunities to smooth manufacturing load on work centres and action accordingly
- Manage production capacity
- Work closely with Planning Supervisor on continuous improvement activities
- Allocate duties according to planning schedule to ensure timely execution as efficiently as practicable
- Assist with Production Detailing
**What we need you to bring to our team**
- Strong Safety focus with a preventative/proactive approach and the ability to manage any OH&S issues to resolution
- Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Production planning / scheduling experience
