**The Role**
The Defence Space Command (DSpC) is looking for an Administration and Unit Security Support Officer to work within the Chief of Staff Branch, who will provide general administration support and manage Space Command security requirements.
Key duties of this role include:
- Provision of administrative support to ensure the smooth functioning of Space Command
- Provision security support and record keeping for the management of security clearances and other security related activities.
- Maintaining, drafting and reviewing security plans and orders.
- Support the Chief of Staff and Business Manager with security incident reporting.
- Promote best practice security knowledge and awareness across the Branch by providing updates on policy changes.

The Chief of Staff Directorate in Defence Space Command manages a range of Command wide business functions and is looking for a high performing APS 5 Administration and Security Officer to join our team, in this integrated and high tempo environment. On-the-job and formal training will be provided.
- General administrative duties
- A knowledge of, or the willingness to undertake training, in Defence Security requirements
- Writing and reviewing plans and processes
- Understanding of the need to know principle and dealing with sensitive information
- Stakeholder engagement
- Building/maintaining positive stakeholder relationships.
- Strong planning/time management skills, particularly prioritisation and critical thinking.
- Judgement and a bias for action in driving outcomes, including problem solving and flexibility.
- Skilful communicator (both written and verbal).
