**Description**:
About the role

The Family Led Decision Making Practitioner role will effectively deliver an accountable, effective and culturally strong FLDM service to reduce the disproportionate representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in the child protection system. The Practitioner will provide independent support to families when child protection concerns are reported for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander child or young person with the goal of securing the safety of the children and the family’s participation in decision making.

Duties
- Effectively engage Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander families that come into contact with the Child Protection system.
- Provide high quality case management practices and meet case performance targets.
- Empower families through targeted interventions to have improved meaningful involvement in the child protection decision that affect their lives.
- Be a conduit and ‘lead case worker’ role for all Child Safety matters that involve the family being supported.
- Perform Monthly review of team tasks.
- Provide crisis care support.

- Starting Salary of $80,500 per annum (depending on qualification and experience) + 10.5% Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging (Increases your take home pay).

**Skills and Experiences**:
COVID - 19 Requirements
- Immunisation history showing evidence of up-to-date COVID vaccinations.

Required

Current Bachelor’s Degree, in Social Work, Human Services, Social Science, Health, Allied Health, Youth Work, Community Services, Family Intervention or Criminology with 2 years’ relevant experience in social services field.

OR

Current Diploma in Community Services, Social Work, Human Services, Child and Family, Allied Health, Youth Work, Child and Family Intervention with 3 years’ relevant experience in social service field.

AND

With at least 1 year of abovementioned experience in a case management role.
Demonstrated ability to meet client performance targets.
Demonstrated ability to record accurate and consistent case notes.
Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of direction and to effectively communicate with and work collaboratively as part of a team, and to contribute to the development of creative and innovative services.
Demonstrated experience in overseeing and coordinating case management processes and procedures.
A willingness to travel across the ATSICHS Brisbane and Logan region of services and work across different sites.
A willingness to provide social work supports and engagement to vulnerable populations.
Working with Children’s Card (Blue Card) or be eligible to apply.

Preferred

Brief intervention counselling skills
Previous experience in a family support and or advocacy role.
