**Associate Architect**

GEM Resourcing is recruiting for an experienced and driven Associate Architect based in Perth. This is a rare opportunity to join a dynamic and growing architectural studio with a strong pipeline of high end residential, medium density, commercial, and civic projects. Ideal for someone with entrepreneurial energy and leadership potential, this role offers a clear path to becoming a 2IC and profit sharing partner without the financial outlay of starting your own firm.

**About the Role**:
As an Associate Architect, you’ll take a leading role across project delivery, client engagement, team development, and construction documentation. You’ll work alongside the Director to help manage and mentor a growing team of talented young architects, while contributing to design development and practice leadership.

This position is perfect for someone who wants the rewards and ownership of running a practice, but within an already successful and supportive framework. The Director is looking for someone eager to take ownership, drive quality outcomes, and help shape the studio’s future.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead projects from design development through to construction documentation and delivery.
- Take ownership of mid-to-end phase documentation — checking, reviewing, and ensuring buildability and quality.
- Mentor and guide junior architects and graduates, supporting their development and ensuring team output is aligned with project expectations.
- Engage with clients, builders, and consultants to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to a high standard.
- Contribute to studio culture, project planning, and practice strategy.
- Assist with sourcing, evaluating, and aligning new project opportunities with studio capacity and expertise.

**To be considered for this role, you’ll need**:

- A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Architecture.
- Architectural Registration (or working toward registration in WA).
- 6-10 years' local experience across residential, commercial, industrial, and/or fit-out sectors.
- Advanced knowledge of construction methodology and Australian standards (BCA/NCC).
- Solid experience with ArchiCAD (preferred), Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp.
- Strong team leadership and communication skills.
- A can do attitude, entrepreneurial mindset, and passion for building high quality projects.
- Must be based in Perth and have full Australian working rights.
