Support Worker

**Description**:

- Provide individual support to people living with disability/mental illness - 24 hour facility
- Promote independence, development and confidence in others
- SCHADS Level 3. $34.04 - $36.50 p/h plus Super and loadings

**You will have**:

- Effective listening skills & an adaptable communication style
- Confident to be assertive when required, transparent and patient
- Able to stay focused and committed to tasks
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Prior experience supporting people with a Disability, Individual Support, Personal Care where challenging behaviours are common (either in a work or personal context)

You will be available to work shifts including a sleep over component commencing as early as 5pm and finishing 9am the following morning

It is a requirement of this position to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, acquire and maintain a positive Working With Children’s Check, an NDIS Worker Screening Check and a current & valid driver’s licence.

**About the Role**:
We assist & support individuals (consumers) in their own homes to develop skills and abilities to handle day to day tasks. Our goal is to enable rather than do, to promote independence, development and confidence of the individuals. The role entails:

- Providing support to work towards individual goals
- Supporting the development of daily living skills and capacity for self-care
- Follow an established behavioral support plan and management plan
- Developing professional relationships with individuals, their families and others in the community
- Providing accurate and timely case notes so that others can provide a consistent experience for the individual
- Assisting with personal care and hygiene requirements as required
