Hey

Hope you are having a great day and love that you dropped by to check out this great role in Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) in the Hillsborough area in Newcastle.

We love OSHC and the immense difference it makes in the world of children and young people - why not take on a role in a small service provider and be a part of that positive life long contribution to another (and many others) worlds - like this quote direct from the updated Framework for OSHC:

- 'Educators’ practices and the relationships they form with children and young people, have a significant effect on children and young people’s development of a strong sense of identity and wellbeing, which impacts their involvement and_
- sense of success.' - Page 9, MTOP V2.0_

There are two Assistant Coordinator positions available and being experienced OSHC professionals ourselves, we know that each service - although near by - can be different, so we made sure to include a little about each to help:
**Service #1**:

- Average 45 children for After School Care, 20 for Before School Care and 30 for Vacation Care.
- Great program with engaged children that contributes to a calm environment.
- A nice mix of a small but not too small service, with the opportunity to grow if required.
- Can use a office space on site, however also the flexibility to work remotely for your admin hours and help with that WFH balance with a work mobile and laptop (work mobile is the service mobile).
- Own space in school grounds and can utilise many other spaces such as the hall if needed.
- Children attend only from this school, does not feed from other schools.

**Service #2**:

- Average 30-40 children for After School Care, 15 for Before School Care and 30 for Vacation Care.
- Children attend only from this school, does not feed from other schools.
- Great relationships with the school and community, has been the same service at the school for 14 years to build this up over time.
- Recently been through A&R, can relax that although we love A&R - that it is not coming up any time soon.
- Very inclusive service with the local community.
- Well equipped with two desktop computers and a laptop and dedicated office.
- Great team that has systems in place and the program and practices flow positively from this.

**Why we like this employer as an OSHC Approved Provider?**
- Small group of services that connect and get together weekly with the Assistant Coordinators and Coordinators. A great report is built between one another, with sharing of information, learning off one another and supporting where possible with practical experience or even most importantly - just to listen (we love that).
- The employer will go by you, by your strengths and let you shine in that area. Whether that is admin, people or programming - they will work with you and what your passion area is.
- Offers professional development based on the needs and wants of the services - they listen and most importantly, they respond with action and make it happen.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Perform as the Responsible Person.
- Help to plan a great quality program for the service with the unique needs and wants of the children in mind.
- Support and manage the great team already in place, a really great place to support one another.
- Get hands on experience in contributing to the QIP (SAT).
- Ensure policies and procedures are followed and maintained.
- Administrative tasks as required and to suit each individual (as mentioned above).
- Inclusive mindset with working and dealing with others (collaborate). such as other educators, children, the school, families and others in the local community.

**Skill and Qualifications**:
**Essential**:

- A qualification is highly desired, however working towards a qualification will also be considered.
- Current NSW Working with Children Check
- Willingness to obtain a National Police Check
- Current Accredited First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificates
- Current Accredited Child Protection
- Knowledge and understanding of the NQF, NQS and My Time, Our Place Framework for School Aged Care.
- Current valid driver’s license
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability and want to lead and mentor team members and learn / develop this area as a leader in the OSHC space.
- An understanding of children's developmental areas in the 5-12 age range.
- Align with the values of the employer, one of which is that of play (we love play)

**Desirable**:

- Knowledge of OWNA Software.
- LR Driver's license (not required).
- Previous OSHC experience, however ask away if you are from an early learning background or studying teaching and want to know more _(we have experience ourselves in OSHC, early learning and as teachers - so we know what they are all like and can give genuine feedback on whethe
