Warehouse Operative

**Position Description Warehouse Assistant**

**POSITION TITLE**:
**Warehouse Assistant WA**

**REPORTS TO**:
Warehouse Manager or 2IC to Warehouse

**POSITION OBJECTIVES**:

- To ensure that all company procedures are complied with in the daily operation of the bulk stock section
- To comply with all relevant OHS legislative requirementsto ensure a safe workplace.
- To ensure that all embroidery and screen printing orders are managed in a timely manner

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Receive and inspect goods inwards, assist with unloading and process associated paperwork.
- Accept, reject or quarantine items as a result of inspection.
- Arrange return of defective stock to supplier in accordance with company procedures.
- Store goods in correct locations and maintain the store to company requirements regarding identification, location, house keeping and security.
- Pick, pack and arrange deliveries as required, and assist with loading.
- Efficiently record, follow-up and process back orders
- Maintain records of all movements into and out of the store: deliveries, sales, transfers, and returns
- Conduct stocktake and spotchecks as required
- Responsible to ensure that all load shifting equipment used is in compliance with all legislative requirements.
- Other duties as directed

**AUTHORITIES**:

- To inspect goods and accept, reject or place in quarantine.

**PERFORMANCE INDICATORS**:

- Accurate picking and delivery of customer orders.
- Customer satisfaction: as measured by on time deliveries and progressive reduction in complaints and returns.
- Bulk stock at authorized stock level
- Good communication skills

**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED**:

- Knowledge of personal safety products and workwear and the ability to read and understand purchase orders
- Understanding of inventory control, data storage and retrieval processes and the handling and storage of goods.
- To be proactive in all OHS matters affecting the workplace

**Job Types**: Full-time, Casual

**Salary**: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- Warehouse distribution: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driver Licence (required)
- Forklift Licence (preferred)
