**Overview**:
We are seeking a resourceful and organised individual to join our team as an Key Worker - Early Childhood Intervention.

**Experience / Qualifications**:

- **You can have a background in allied health including**:
A. A person who has a bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or Special Education - Current registration or accreditation (VIT) (Victorian Institute of Teaching)

B. A person who has a current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Registration as an Occupational Therapist.

C. A person who has a current AHPRA Registration as a Physiotherapist.

D. A person who has a current AHPRA Registration as a Psychologist.

E. A person who is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist as approved by Speech Pathology Australia.

F. A person has a bachelor’s degree or higher and has current full membership with Developmental Educators Australia Inc.

G. A person who is a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

H. A person who is either a member of the Australian Counselling Association or an accredited Registrant with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia.

I. A person who is an Accredited exercise physiologist with Exercise and Sports Science Australia.

In your role as a Key Worker, you will provide early childhood intervention services to support children with developmental delays or disabilities, and their families/ guardians. You will work on behalf of our team who will be supporting you to help families to break down barriers to reveal children’s true abilities.

**As a KeyWorker the day to day looks like**:

- Demonstrate the values of CareMile
- Meet the responsibilities of your role including positive outcomes with children and families, contributions to the team and meeting key performance indicators
- Assess and communicate the child’s development and ongoing progress.
- Plan, develop and coordinate supports with the child and family that reflect strengths-based and family-cantered approaches.
- Deliver supports to children and families that lead to positive outcomes, utilising a transdisciplinary key worker approach
- Facilitate a team around the child that promotes participation in family, community and cultural activities
- Ensure that supports are clearly documented, coordinated, and communicated to families and internal and external stakeholders

**Expectations**:

- Attended a family’s home to conduct their first appointment, getting to know them, their child and goals
- Provided therapy at a preschool/school/afterschool to support a child to develop their motor skills
- Supported the parents of their child to find a local school that best suits their child’s needs
- Worked collaboratively with a Speech Pathologist and family members to support a child to develop their communication and social skills
- Facilitated with your background in other allied health to incorporate strategies and techniques to assist with children’s therapy throughout their sessions.

**To be successful in this role, you will**:

- If you're an Occupational Therapist, be AHPRA registered
- If you're a Speech Pathologist, be SPA registered
- If you're an Educator, hold full Teachers Registration with the relevant State Education Authority (full membership of Developmental Educators Australia Inc)
- Early years’ experience or Disability i.e. Special Education Qualifications
- Be passionate about providing a deeper level of support to children and families
- Be a great listener and have a positive approach to risk
- Have a drive to delivering high impact outcomes in children and families’ lives
- Hold a NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working with Children’s Check, etc..
- Hold a valid Victorian Driver’s licence
