**Job Description**:
**The Role**
Our Global Software Development & Support Manager (SDSM) leads a highly talented (and growing) software development team. Working closely with AEC industry thought leaders, the SDSM partners with our product managers, UI/UX specialists, Client and commercial teams, QA specialists, external technology providers, and AECOM (IT) Cloud services teams to deliver AEC industry leading software as a service (SaaS) products.
This role requires a blend of technical execution and stakeholder management with business strategy and delivery skills. Proven experience managing software development teams through Agile (Scrum and Kanban) software development methodologies, which spans product ideation through continuous integration and delivery, enable this position to successfully lead the technical delivery of our products. The SDSM is also responsible for the global user support of our SaaS products.
Clear, concise communication skills as a collaborator, influencer and team leader are integral to the success on this role. Excellent project management skills will be a foundational component to managing project objectives and team activities within the quality, time, and budget constraints. A passion for maintaining a high-level of software quality and user experience for our end-users is a necessity.
**About You**:
- Manages a team of global AECOM and external software developers (directly and indirectly), providing performance management, careers development, coaching, training, mentoring, and team building.
- Support onboarding of new development staff, including both internal hires and contractors.
- Partners with product managers, solution architects, AECOM IT stakeholders, and UI/UX leads to drive through product requirements, story definition, architecture and UI/UX prototypes. Actively participate in product roadmap development, customer engagements and architecture definition.
- Provides technical software development expertise and advise to Global Digital Leader - SaaS, and other stakeholders.
- Manages and continuously evolves, in partnership with our Client Success Manager, the support process, resources and performance for the global SaaS offerings.
- Manages the technical (and commercial if required) interactions with external software and technology partners and vendors, in alignment with product managers.
- Facilitates sprint planning and retrospectives with team; manage outcomes/outputs of retrospectives to continuously improve the way we work.
- Provides critical input to product managers to ensure product stories are well-defined and ready for task breakdown; work with software development leads to breakdown stories into clear, discrete, time-boxed software development task, and manages timely delivery of sprints on time and quality.
