Assistant Store Manager

We’re seeking an **Assistant Store Manager** who will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager to achieve sales and profitability growth for the assigned store, through effective leadership and development of the store team. Undertake operational responsibility for the assigned store in the absence of the Store Manager.

**Key** **Responsibilities**

EHS
- Establishing and maintaining a safe work environment
- Ensure all injury /incident reports are completed to time frame and reported to Line Manager
- Ensure monthly EH&S audits are completed and action any issues and improve any finding within a set timeframe

Leadership
- Demonstrate and role model leadership behaviours including customer focus, accountability, ownership, teamwork, professionalism, and drive engagement
- Planning, directing, and participating in the operations of the store on a shift basis
- Effective communication and motivation of store staff
- Perform role in accordance with PPG corporate values.

Achieving Sales
- Work effectively with Store Manager, store team & Trade team to maximize sales potential
- Assist the Store Manager to achieve revenue and growth targets aligned to the stores goals and individuals P&LP
- Meeting the product and service needs of our customers and maintaining dedication to our customer
- Leading a sales approach that maximizes value by focusing on the features and benefits of PPG products, and our service proposition
- Effectively supporting marketing and promotional plans maximizing sales potential
- Maximizing the potential of customer relationships
- Operating point of sale system and accurately preparing sales invoices as per company policy
- Deliver store customer service standards by demonstrating and coaching colleagues the 4x3 Customer Service Protocol - Welcome, Understand, Solution, Sell
- Increase sales using the 4x3 Selling Application System - Preparing, Prime and Seal, Finishing

Achieving Store Compliance Standards
- Assisting in the effective management of expenses, inventory and stock take aligned to P&LP goals
- Maintaining store standards to always benchmark and personal presentation standards (uniform and grooming)
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures

Training and Development
- Attend PPG state-based training as directed
- Undertake Sales Techniques, store presentations, customer service and Ethics training
- Assisting with the training and development of staff

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Tint paint and colour match and make product recommendations to customers when required
- Maintain store housekeeping standards as per company standard
- Stock receipt, maintain orders and transact customer sales through the Point-of-Sale system
- Perform role in accordance with PPG corporate values
- Achieve goals as decided in the PLP
- Ad hoc duties

**Requirements**:

- Retail/ customer service experience
- Business POS Software Literacy
- Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills
- Availability to work and travel between stores plus working weekends/public holidays
