Our program, operating on Tuesdays and Fridays, offers a variety of enriching experiences including outings, games, crafts, exercises, guest speakers, and more. Our aim is to foster lasting friendships, enhance individual well-being, and maintain vital social connections for our members.

**Job Description**:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant to support our Over 65 Socialisation Group. As an Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in orchestrating group activities, ensuring member comfort, and contributing to the uplifting atmosphere of our gatherings. This position presents a fulfilling opportunity to positively impact the lives of older adults by nurturing socialisation, mental stimulation, and emotional well-being.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Collaborate in planning and organising diverse group activities, including outings, workshops, and social events.

2. Extend warm welcomes to members, facilitate introductions, and encourage active participation in activities.

3. Provide companionship and support, creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and respected.

4. Assist in setup and cleanup for activities, maintaining a safe and tidy venue for all participants.

5. Help in the preparation of morning tea and lunch for members.

6. Assist with transportation arrangements as needed.

7. Engage actively with members, initiating conversations, and attentively listening to their stories and experiences.

8. Uphold confidentiality and honour the privacy of all members.

9. Collaborate with the Group Coordinator and team to assess activity effectiveness and propose enhancements.

Qualifications:
1. Genuine passion for promoting socialisation and well-being among older adults.

2. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

3. Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanour, driven by a desire to make a positive difference.

4. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and strong organisational skills.

5. Previous experience working with older adults or in a similar role is advantageous.

6. First aid certification preferred.

7. Drivers licence essential.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

**Salary**: $420.00 - $500.00 per week

Expected hours: 6 - 14 per week
