**Job location**

Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria. We address the needs of people experiencing mental health issues, the mental health sector, the justice sector and the general community. These services are delivered through inpatient services at Thomas Embling Hospital, community services through the Community Forensic Mental Health Service and prison-based services at several locations. This position will be based at Thomas Embling Hospital and will be required to work across all Forensicare sites.

Forensicare is situated across five sites across Victoria with its largest site being Thomas Embling Hospital,?located in Fairfield just 15 minutes north of the Melbourne city centre.Thomas Embling Hospital is a 136-bed secure hospital providing acute care, rehabilitation and continuing care programs. It includes a dedicated women’s unit.

**About the Role**:

- Senior Nursing position forms part of the Thomas Embling Leadership team with responsibility for the acute services (4 Acute Units )
- Works closely with Executive Director Inpatient Operations, Operations Manager Rehabilitation and the Access and Flow coordinator.
- Direct reports include the clinical administration team, 4 Nurse Managers, and the access flow coordinator position

**Duties**:

- Lead and manage acute services in a changing lanscape with further expansion of acute services over the next two years.
- Manage operational requirements and ensure efficient patient flow and resourcing across the acute stream
- Monitor and develop patient and staff safety and quality intiatives
- Foster strong interdiscpilinary functioning and collaboration with stakeholders
- Promote patient and family centered practice and model of care implementation
- Workforce planning, wellbeing and suppport responsibilities

**About You**:

- RPN with significant post registration experience in management roles
- Committment to the royal commission vision to eliminate restrictive practices and consumer and family centered models of care
- Compassionate and approachable leader with an enabling style.
- Holds or is working towards post graduate qualifications in management/leadership
- Change Management experience adaptable and agile in approach

- Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent.

Successful applicants will be required to provide evidence of three COVID-19 Vaccination prior to commencing work at Forensicare.
