**Policy and Ministerial Support Officer**
- _ Salary: _$97,955 - $111,142 _(Plus Superannuation)_

**The Role**
- As a Policy and Ministerial Support Officer, you will contribute to the delivery of timely, high-quality policy advice and administrative support, working across the Tourism Policy and Programs branch and the broader Tourism, Events and Entities branch.
- To be successful in this role, you will have strong project and policy development skills, excellent stakeholder engagement capabilities, and high-level written and verbal communication skills.
- Working within a small team and reporting to the Manager, Tourism Policy, the Policy and Ministerial Support Officer will be required to manage a range of responsibilities simultaneously, working on diverse tasks of varying complexity.

**Key accountabilities include**:

- Assist in the delivery of Tourism Portfolio support function including the research and preparation of Ministerial correspondence and briefings.
- Provide research and policy advice on numerous visitor economy issues across the division.
- Actively participate in the development of policies and strategies that are the responsibility of the Tourism Events Strategy and Reform unit.
- In performing the above functions, provide advice on how to best communicate to key stakeholders in relation to new policies, programs and major Ministerial launches or events.
- Represent DJSIR at meetings and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to gain cooperation, influence views and achieve business objectives.

**The Team**
- The position of the Policy and Ministerial Support Officer will work within Tourism and Events branch, which sits within Sport and Experience Economy group.
- Sport and Experience Economy group (SEE) is comprised of Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) and the Tourism, Events and Entities branch (TEE).
- SRV aims to create greater sport and active recreation participation opportunities for all Victorians in order to maximise economic, social and health benefits and enhance Victoria's liveability.
- This is achieved by supporting the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events and the Minister for Community Sport in the management of major sports facilities, administering grant programs that develop community facilities, strengthening the capacity of sport and recreation organisations, developing more active recreation and other innovative options to increase overall participation rates, reducing barriers to participation for specific population groups, supporting world-class sporting events and Victoria's high performance sport sector, and reinforcing the role that sport and active recreation plays in growing the Victorian economy, supporting jobs and building stronger communities.

- Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships with managers, colleagues and Government and industry stakeholders.
- Proven capacity to adapt to changing priorities, exercise sound judgement in the allocation of time, and remain flexible and responsive in a dynamic work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team, cooperating and working well with others to provide high quality work.
