**About the opportunity**
The Category Analyst is responsible for assisting in the building and generating of robust, data led, customer, geography and market insights that help inform marketing strategies, campaigns and plans as well as support broader business insight generation. The role will have accountability for analysis of current and potential customers trends and behaviours with the end goal to find and drive new customer and market opportunities for Australia Post.
Key to this will be the ability to leverage data sets across the Australia Post business and add other data sources such as ABS, research or purchased data sets to create robust analytical insights. The analytics team is also responsible for building key marketing data assets including NPS data system, segmentation data system, marketing measurement model and a leads and customer list data system. This role will assist in the ownership and governance of the marketing data warehouse.
**You’ll be responsible for**:
- Assisting in building key data assets across a range of sources, and modelling data and processes to identify recommendations
- Analyses large, multi-dimensional datasets using a range of analytical techniques identifying actionable insights and recommendations
- Utilises data analysis platforms and tools, including advanced database querying (SQL) - GCP preferred
- Assists in the creation and maintenance of organisational data models that meet immediate and future needs
- Work with the Customer Insights team to provide actionable insights leveraging their research data together with our operational data
**About you**
You are an Analyst who excels in analysing data in order to draw out meaningful insights and then turn these insights into actionable recommendations, enabling smarter business decisions. You are an analytical thinker with the ability to gather, interpret and make sense of complex data from numerous sources (using GCP). You are able to clearly interpret findings, turn them into visualizations (such as graphs and charts) and advise on strategies and actions for the future.
**What are we looking for?**
- 3-5 years’ experience within Analytics
- Analytics / Customer Insights role within a large corporate business and/or agency
- Proven ability to analyse complex problems, identify critical issues and quickly develop strategies for delivering solutions
- Collecting, integrating, standardising and optimising complex, large, and varied data sets for analysis
