**ABOUT THE ROLE**
TAFE NSW is seeking a permanent full time Technical Officer (Horticulture and Landscape) to work in the Horticulture teaching section based at the Kurri Kurri Campus. The role is responsible for assisting with the set-up of equipment and materials in the workshop and associated grounds for practical classes, as well as maintaining equipment and section facilities.
In the role, you will purchase and manage workshop stock levels and take appropriate action to ensure safe working conditions are maintained. You will provide the appropriate level of support to the teaching section and supervise outside contract staff working on equipment or facilities as required.

To succeed in the role, you must have some experience working within the horticulture and landscaping industry. Highly desirable is five (5) years industry experience.
To be successful in this role your submission must address the requirements as outlined in the Position Description:
- Hold the minimum vocational qualification, or equivalent, in one of the following:
- Certificate III in Horticulture, or
- Certificate III in Turf Management, or
- Certificate III in Parks and Gardens, or
- Certificate III in Landscape Construction.
- Can demonstrate your experience working within the horticulture and landscape environment, or related work areas. Demonstrate an understanding of current practices and procedures used across the amenity horticulture field in both maintenance and construction.
- Can demonstrate your experience with tools and equipment commonly used in amenity horticulture.
- Be proficient in using a skid steer loader.
- Hold a medium rigid truck license or higher.
- Can demonstrate your understanding of purchasing of goods and services, and the importance Work Health and Safety compliance in the workplace.
- Address how you can work as a team member with limited supervision and contribute by delivering results competently by identifying resources need to complete tasks.
- Can address and meet the focus capabilities as stated in the Position Description.
It is highly desirable that you have previous experience with irrigation and maintenance installation, however not essential.
