**The role**:
We are seeking talented, reliable, and passionate support workers to join our new team. As a Support Worker you will support people living with disability through:

- Supporting the participant to access community events or services and with social outings and transport.
- Accurate data collection and completion of all required documentation including progress notes as required.
- Providing support in a manner that is consistent and encourages and motivates the Participant to meet their goals and independent skills building, through person centred practices.
- Promoting a stimulating, caring and culturally appropriate environment for participants.
- Providing any required self-care, social and emotional support to the participant as required.
- Maintaining appropriate and effective communication with all stakeholders, including team leaders, peers, and management.

**Mandatory requirements**:

- exceptional verbal and written communication skills,
- excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with participants and team members
- a passion and enthusiasm for care and support work in the disability sector
- an ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- All NDIS training modules available on the NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission website (completed previously or willing to obtain)
- Covid Infection Control Certificate (completed previously or willing to obtain)
- QLD Drivers Licence (without restrictions)
- Reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle
- First Aid & CPR Certificates
- Obtain or working towards a Certificate III qualification (or higher) in a relevant industry field
- Obtain or working towards other relevant qualifications (e.g., AUSLAN)
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Available to work a 24/7 rotating roster and willing to travel across greater Brisbane (and specifically the Redland area) to provide support for other clients in future as needed
- Mental health first aid training
- Medication management training
- Experience managing challenging behaviours

**Work Location?**

You will primarily be supporting NDIS Participants in the _Redlands Local Government Area, east of Brisbane_.
