Although our title may have the word school in it, it’s our students at Mad Hatter that make it feel more like a family.

**We are seeking an ethusiastic, self-motivated music teachers to run home lessons**

About you:

- An outgoing person who easily connects with kids and has a heart for child-led education
- Confident musician. Able to improvise, compose and sight read to a reasonable level and enjoys creative music making approaches.
- Ideally had some experience teaching or managing kids in a group setting (ideal but not necessary)
- Mature, responsible approach to the way you manage your workload. Able to keep accurate lesson notes, plan in advance of classes and be punctual and organised with your teaching
- Self-driven teacher who enjoys sourcing suitable music, transcribing songs, finding out-of-the box ways to teach concepts and values flexibility in the way you engage with children
- Reliable own-transport
- Able to commit to a minimum of 6 months teaching with us
- Able to commit to your afternoon teaching roster, without the need for last-minute cancellations or regular time off for other commitments

About the position:

- Currently no work on school holidays, but potential to change in the future
- You will be responsible for planning your classes including sourcing suitable music.
- We want to support you in every way possible. We can supply materials, music, booklets and other items you need to teach your best lessons. We will provide ongoing training and support to help you confidently deliver awesome classes.
