We are seeking a proficient project officer with demonstrated experience in coordinating educational projects and programs, who has a genuine passion for student equity to join our dynamic and collaborative team.

As the Widening Participation Program Coordinator, you be responsible for developing and implementing programs and initiatives which target increased access, participation and success in Higher Education for potential domestic undergraduate students from Low SES backgrounds, regional and remote areas and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Reporting to the Pre-Access and Participation Program Lead and Transition and Student Success Program Lead you will:
- Support the development and delivery of WPU pre-access, access and participation programs and initiatives both on and off Wallumattagal Campus (North Ryde) with a focus on students from low socio-economic status (SES) backgrounds, students from regional and remote areas and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.- Establish and sustain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver WPU programs and initiatives and promote the University’s Widening Participation priorities.- Support Continuous Quality Improvement, Government, and internal Macquarie University reporting processes by completing CQI planning and reporting documentation.- Oversee individual activity and program budgets.- Coordinate and support a team of dedicated Program Assistants and Student Ambassadors in the delivery of WPU programs.- Contribute to the evaluation, research and development of WPU programs and initiatives.

ABOUT US

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) (DVC-A) is the Chief Academic Officer of the University and is a member of the University Executive.

The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) within the DVC-A portfolio develops and drives the University’s strategy for building and enhancing entry and progression pathways and leads the ongoing improvement of academic offerings at Macquarie.

The Widening Participation Unit (WPU) within that portfolio works to meet the University’s commitment to the national widening participation agenda with the aim to improve access and increase participation in Higher Education by students from backgrounds that are traditionally underrepresented (low socio-economic status, regional and remote, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander). The WPU is funded by the Federal Government's Higher Education Participation and Partnerships Program (HEPPP).
