**The Role**

We are currently seeking to appoint a mid level Civil Designer to join our Melbourne Team. Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Civil Designer will contribute to delivering innovative solutions in all facets of tailings storage facilities and other earth structures. The role will suit an experienced Civil 3D Designer who has worked on civil projects for mining clients. Some of the key responsibilities may include:

- Tailings beach modelling.
- 3D Civil design of embankments and other earth structures, civil structures and roads.
- Coordinate and plan the work of design and documentation resources.
- Undertake material take-off and develop schedules of Quantities.
- Produce design drawings and documentation in accordance with established company design and drafting standards.
- Working with and providing support to other members of the group as well as mentoring of junior staff, as required.
- 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience working on tailings/mine waste related projects locally or internationally, ideally in a consulting environment.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake engineering design.
- Demonstrated AutoCAD and Civil 3D capability in drafting and detailing civil projects within a consulting environment.
- Ability to coordinate and plan the work of design and documentation resources.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with people at all levels.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
