**About the position**

Council’s Safer Communities Department is looking for an Animal Support Officer who will be responsible for promoting responsible pet ownership, including maintaining Council’s animal registration database and the collection of lost/stray animals in accordance with Council Policies and relevant legislation.

The main responsibilities will include:

- Actively promote domestic animal registration and compulsory desexing through community education
- Undertake the collection of lost/stray animals and provide information to the public on domestic animal related matters
- Initiate appropriate enforcement measures including the issuing of infringements and preparation of briefs of evidence

**About you**
- A high level of customer service delivery, including the ability to deal with issues which maybe complex in nature
- Certificate IV in Animal Regulation, Management and Government or relevant experience in Animal Registration/Management
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or the ability to obtain one
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence

This position is a Band 5 currently remunerated at $82,567.33 per annum, plus superannuation. Overtime will also be paid as required.
