**The Opportunity**

We are seeking graduates to join our team and train as Physical Traders. The Physical Trader’s responsibility is to optimise gross margin through the dispatch of the CS Energy owned and controlled generation portfolio into the National Electricity Market (NEM) in accordance with the National Electricity Rules (NER), policies, procedures and CS Energy’s trading strategy. As a Physical Trader, you are required to monitor/ analyse market conditions and competitor behaviour to inform dispatch decisions and shape the overall trading strategy.

This is a 24-hour rostered position averaging 3 shifts of 12.5 hours per week, working day and night shifts, on both weekdays and weekends (there is a generous shift allowance to compensate for shift work). The role is based at our Brisbane Corporate Office in the Fortitude Valley. However, the Physical Traders’ have the flexibility to work remotely at times depending on market conditions.

- Secondly, you will be curious by nature as there are many components that need to be considered/ monitored to make good decisions such as the weather, fuel stockpile levels, extreme weather events, pricing strategies across all states and competitor movements, regulations and politics.
- In addition, you will have excellent communication skills including the ability to actively listen and clarify information.
- Furthermore, when working alone on nightshift you must be comfortable working autonomously and have good common sense & problem-solving capabilities.

**Qualification**
- Technical degree in a related discipline such as Engineering, Business, Commerce, Finance or Information Technology or experience in a related energy operational and commercial environment is desirable not essential.
