Toll Helicopters is an experienced provider of specialised mission-critical helicopter services and training for Government, Defence and the civil sector. With extensive experience in operations, training and helicopter maintenance, our staff are some of the most highly experienced and well-trained aviation professionals in the country.
Toll operates the Toll Ambulance Rescue Helicopter Service on behalf of NSW Health for the NSW and ACT communities.
**Job Description**:
We have a unique opportunity to join Toll Group in our Helicopters business as a Defence Contracts and Operations Manager. The Defence Contracts and Operations Manager is a multi-disciplinary role supporting all of the Defence contracted business for Toll Helicopters.
This role will be based in Brisbane, with frequent domestic travel required.
Working alongside the Head of Defence Programs, this position is responsible for development and sustainment of business relationships between Toll and the Australian Defence Force, both for sustainment of current Defence Business, and generation of new business.
- Manage, monitor, address & report on agreed contract key performance indicators (KPI)
- Provide oversight, management and responsibility for contractual compliance
- Maintain and provide oversight to safe & efficient flying and maintenance operations by working closely with the Chief Pilot, Technical Services Manager, the Senior Base Engineers (SBE) & all Australian Army client representatives
- Manage contract requirements for the deployment & maintenance of aircraft for ops
- Manage all health, safety & environmental issues in relation to all Defence operations
- Optimise opportunity with existing customers to leverage Toll into other business units, or into related parties
- Be prepared to lead and project manage the mobilisation of new contracts with all associated duties, as directed by the Head of Defence Aviation Programs
**Qualifications**:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience establishing and maintaining effective support and rapport with personnel at all levels
- Ability to foster teamwork and reward cooperative and collaborative behaviour
- Ability to analyse issues, demonstrate judgement and problem solve effectively
- Sound understanding and implementation of aviation safety systems
- Aviation management degree would be an advantage
- Familiarity with flight administration software such as Air Maestro, and maintenance management software such as Gannet are desirable
- Commercial awareness of tendering processes with a sound understanding of business development
- Able to prioritise and work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a Defence related role in Australia or overseas would be an advantage
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in aviation management roles would be desirable
- Experience working within a state and / or federal government environment would be desirable
- Ability to gain a Defence Security Clearance and an Aviation Security Identification Card
