**About the role**
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing all logistics operations within Pirelli Tyres Australia. This role ensures seamless coordination of supply chain activities, including import documentation management, shipping and customs clearance, warehouse operations, and 3PL distribution. The position also involves optimizing logistics workflows, ensuring compliance with international shipping regulations, and supervising a Resource Logistics Specialist.
**What you'll be doing**
**Import & Customs Management**:
- Oversee and manage import documentation, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and trade agreements.
- Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to streamline the clearance process.
- Verify and process invoices from shipping lines and customs agencies.
- Manage customs clearance procedures, including tariff classifications and duty optimization.
- Monitor and update ETA reports, ensuring real-time tracking of shipments.
**Inbound & Warehouse Coordination**:
- Plan and coordinate inbound shipments with suppliers, HQ, and production plants.
- Optimize container utilization and prioritize inbound shipments based on demand and storage capacity.
- Ensure seamless transfer of stock between warehouses, verifying transfer orders and updating stock databases.
- Monitor warehouse stock levels, identifying and addressing overstock and critical shortages.
- Coordinate weekly 3PL operations meetings to enhance efficiency in warehouse processes.
**Order Management & Distribution**:
- Oversee order consolidation and shipment scheduling for customer deliveries.
- Monitor and ensure on-time delivery performance for both domestic and international orders.
- Manage distribution workflows, optimizing routing and delivery timelines.
- Address and resolve shipping variances and discrepancies in collaboration with customers and 3PL providers.
- Update shipment arrival dates and ensure order tracking systems are up to date.
**Data & Reporting**:
- Maintain and update logistics performance KPIs, including stock aging, order fill rates, and transportation costs.
- Conduct data analysis on logistics performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
- Prepare monthly reports on logistics activities, trends, and budget variances.
- Maintain compliance documentation, including annual packing declarations and import regulations.
**Process Improvement & Compliance**:
- Identify process inefficiencies and implement automation and digital tools to enhance logistics operations.
- Develop and enforce quality control standards in logistics and warehouse management.
- Ensure adherence to safety, security, and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards.
- Conduct regular audits and implement corrective actions where necessary.
**Stakeholder Coordination**:
- Collaborate with HQ logistics teams to align global logistics strategies with local operations.
- Act as an escalation point for logistics issues, working closely with suppliers, transporters, and internal departments.
- Manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluations and service level agreements.
Provide strategic insights on logistics cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
**What we're looking for**
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or transportation.
- Experience working with international shipping, customs regulations, and 3PL management.
- Fluent English (both written and spoken). Additional language skills are a plus.
- Deep understanding of logistics and supply chain operations, including inventory management and distribution strategies.
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, Incoterms, and customs compliance.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and logistics software for shipment tracking and warehouse management.
- Financial acumen for cost analysis and logistics budgeting
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and logistics analytics tools.
- Strategic thinking with a focus on continuous improvement.
