**Employment Conditions **Appropriate Band 2/POR Level in accordance with the Westminster
School Inc. Teaching Staff and School Assistants Enterprise Agreement.

**Key Relationships **The Head of Activities is responsible to the Principal. This position works
closely with the Heads of Sports - Senior and Preparatory Schools,
Director of Music, Head of Dance, Curriculum Leader Outdoor Education
and the Round Square and Exchanges Coordinator. The Head of Activities
has direct line management of the Head of Sport Senior School, the
Sports Administration Coordinator, Round Square Coordinator and
Strength and Conditioning Coach.

**_Position Objective: _**
The Head of Activities assumes overall responsibility for the effective and successful planning, management
and operation of the Co-curricular program and provides oversight of the Round Square and Exchanges
programs.

**_Key Responsibilities: _**

**1. Lead and Manage the Co-curricular Program**
- Develop, implement and maintain a broad R-12 co-curricular strategy and program, including sport,

performing arts, outdoor education, tours and other recreational activities that are engaging and
within budget parameters.
- Develop and drive strategies to improve the efficiency, quality and outcomes for co-curricular

programs focussing on student participation, return on School investment and performance of
activities.
- Develop and maintain an appropriate suite of policies and procedures to ensure the efficient

operation of the co-curricular program.
- Oversee the administration of the co-curricular program, including but not limited to:

- Scheduling and fixtures of activities and assisting with the development of the School Calendar
- Budget preparation and management,
- Allocation of staff to activities
- All camps, tours and trips
- Liaison with staff such as the Venue and Events Manager, Heads of Sport, Curriculum Leaders of
Outdoor Education and Performing Arts and Round Square and Exchanges Coordinator
- Manage and administer the co-curricular incentive scheme.
- Ensure all teaching staff contribute to the co-curricular program.
- Plan and manage the communications required for a successful co-curricular program with high

levels of student participation such as co-curricular handbook, webpages and internal/external
publicity.
- Develop and improve the integrity and usefulness of the co-curricular database, including its

integration into the student management system and reporting process.
- Provide advice and support as required for staff running co-curricular activities.
- Plan and implement effective risk management and health and safety strategies for the co
- curricular program, ensuring compliance with any relevant legislation and regulations.
- Work closely with the Enrolments Manager in the strategic enrolment of student athletes.

**2. Management of Sports Trainee Program.**
- Coordination of end-to-end recruitment of AFL Sportsready AFL Trainee each year in consultation

with the Principal and HR.
- Be first point of contact for incoming Sports Trainee.
- Arrange appropriate induction and orientation programs in conjunction with the AFL Sportsready

Program.
- Meet regularly with the Sports trainee throughout the year to monitor progress and address any

concerns.

**_Other Responsibilities _**
- Oversight of the Golden Keys Training Centre.
- All teaching staff are expected to contribute to the Pastoral Care program.
- All teaching staff are expected to contribute to the co-curricular program of the School.
- Other responsibilities as the Principal may from time to time require.

**_Key Selection Criteria: Qualifications, Skills and Experience _**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Demonstrated experience and success in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated passion for, experience in and proven track record of coordinating sport or co
- curricular activities.
- High level of ICT skills and knowledge.
- Regular and up to date professional knowledge.
- Experience in a complex and diverse independent coeducational environment.
- Current first aid certification.
