**Work with young people 1 day a week in one of two country communities near the CBD**:
If you are a VR GP with an interest in working with young people in a mental health capacity, don’t pass up this opportunity to join the team at headspace, in either Murray Bridge or their satellite clinic in Victor Harbor.

Murray Bridge and Victor Harbor are both classified as Distribution Priority Areas.

**The Role**:
Harnessing your skills and interest in working with young people, you will thrive in this role providing holistic primary health care and assisting clients with any physical health issues as well as issues related to sexual health, drug or alcohol use, and mental health.

You will love working alongside the dynamic team of Mental Health and Aboriginal Health Workers, and the skilled and experienced clinic team that will provide your day to day administrative support.

**Essential Criteria**:

- Vocationally Registered
- MBBS or equivalent
- Experience in providing mental health services
- Cultural competence working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People

A postgraduate qualification relevant to general practice is desirable, but not essential.

**The Practice**:
Headspace is a national organisation that provides mental health services to young people aged 12-25 years. The organisation provides a youth-friendly, community-based, free service for young people and their families. They offer a range of support services including counselling sessions and group programs for young people

Both the Murray Bridge & Victor Harbor sites offer a team environment with administrative support (including billing and appointments); professional development opportunities in mental health both locally and nationally; and access to primary and secondary Psychiatric consults.

The districts surrounding both Murray Bridge and Victor Harbor are well known for farming and tourism, with each town an easily commutable distance from Adelaide.

Many of Murray Bridge’s activities revolve around the river where house boats, paddle-steamers, and water based activities such as skiing are enjoyed throughout the year. Many of Victor Harbor’s activities revolve around the ocean, where locals and visitors alike love to go surfing, fishing and walking across the bay to Granite Island.

Both communities are home to a variety of public and private schools catering to students from Reception to Year 7, as well as numerous kindergarten and child care options for pre-school aged children.
