Job Description: Technical Officer - Construction

Role Overview: As a Technical Officer - Construction within Moreton Bay Regional Council's Projects and Asset Services Department, you'll oversee the end-to-end process of civil construction projects involving internal crews and asset maintenance stakeholders. Reporting to the Team Leader - Construction Support, your role spans project management, documentation, procurement, quality control, and stakeholder coordination.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Project Management: Manage construction projects from planning to evaluation, meeting Council's project delivery standards.
- Documentation: Develop and review preconstruction docs, specs, and contracts, ensuring compliance with policies.
- Procurement: Lead project tender and procurement processes for services and materials.
- Quality Control: Inspect sites, ensure compliance, and propose solutions for issues.
- Resource Allocation: Optimize use of equipment for internal crews and Maintenance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with diverse stakeholders for smooth project delivery.

**Requirements**:

- Construction Expertise: Extensive experience in civil construction with material and standard knowledge.
- Traffic Management: Proficiency in MUTCD and traffic guidance scheme design.
- Estimation Skills: Strong estimation and Benchmark software skills.
- Technical Proficiency: High MS Office and software competency.
- Interpersonal Skills: Team player with customer service focus.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication, especially in technical writing

**Qualifications**:

- Tertiary qualification in civil construction or related field
- Valid Construction Induction Card
- C class driver's license.
