**About the opportunity**

BARC is looking for skilled animal handlers to join our team of professional animal lovers

We are looking for people who are familiar with pound and shelter animal management practices. We are looking for people to work mainly on weekends and public holidays.

This role focuses on enhancing our image as a customer service provider and ensuring that animals in our care are treated humanely in accordance with accepted standards, codes, Acts and regulations.

**Qualifications and experience**

**Essential**:

- Relevant qualifications in an appropriate field
- Significant experience in handling companion animals
- Current class C driver’s licence.

**Desirable**:

- Qualified microchip implanter
- Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
- Demonstrated knowledge of animal care and welfare issues
- Developed verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Ability to drive manual vehicle
- Experience in handling livestock.
