The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Social Worker (Mental Health - Young Adult and Specialist Services) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide social work specific interventions and assessments including (but not limited to) assessing the complex psychosocial needs of consumers and working collaboratively with families and systems to reflect the values of the profession
- Provide a comprehensive and flexible mental health service to young people and their family/carers
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge in adolescent and young adult mental health, in order to provide education programs and mental health consultation to key stakeholders
- Contribute to the clinical education of students and other less experienced staff, in consultation and with the support of senior clinical staff

About you

**To be successful in this position you will require**:

- Tertiary degree in Social Work
- Eligible for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Drivers Licence
- Working with Children check - Qld Health will meet the cost
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $80 851 - $111 858 per annum

The Young Adult and Speciality Services Team is a multi-disciplinary within the Gold Coast Child Youth and Mental Health Services operating across the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service to provide multispecialty mental health intervention to young people aged 18-21 years.
