An exciting opportunity currently exists for enthusiastic and highly motivated nurses to undertake a **Transition in Speciality Practice (Perioperative Services)** in Operating Suites, Austin.
Austin Operating Suites is a dynamic suite with 11 operating rooms, a procedure room, fluoroscopy room and endoscopy rooms. Specialities covered but not limited to are: Cardiac, Thoracic, Neurosurgery, Liver transplantation, Orthopaedics, Urology General and upper Gastrointestinal, Vascular and Plastics.
You will be employed part time (0.8 EFT) in the Austin Operating Suites for the duration of the Transition in Specialty Practice program. There are two streams
- Intraoperative and Anaesthetics/Recovery.
At Austin Health we follow a best practice clinical learning environment philosophy and as such deliver education using contemporary teaching modalities with an emphasis on experiential learning with a particular focus on bedside teaching and learning. Subjects are assessed from both theoretical and clinical perspectives. The Transition to Speciality Practice program will be undertaken over a 12-month period.
**Position Requirements**
Registered Nurse registered with NMBA
At least 1 years acute clinical experience post nursing registration
**Desirable**
- Knowledge of legal/ethical requirements and professional standards
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve
- Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
