**The Y Queensland’s childcare services** has been at the heart of Australian communities for more than 40 years, with our first early learning service opening in Brisbane in 1977 after we identified the need for childcare that focused on helping children grow in body, mind and spirit.

**YMCA Outside School Hours Care (OSHC)** provides fun, stimulating and safe care for primary and secondary school children before and after school. At OSHC, children have the opportunity to participate in cooking, sport, music, art, dance and so much more.

We are currently recruiting for an **Assistant Coordinator** to join our team at **YMCA Springfield Lakes **Outside School Hours Care (OSHC).

This is a **permanent, part time **position. Your working hours per week will be 34.5 hours during school term and 38 hours during vacation care time.

**YOUR WORKSPACE**

YMCA Springfield Lakes Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is located on the school grounds of Springfield State School. The service has been actively running for the past 10 years with many more to come. We have our own building but are also licensed to use the hall and many other spaces within the school grounds.

We are currently licensed for 150 children and offer Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care between the hours of 6:15am and 6pm. We provide a healthy and delicious menu that reflects our families and makes our children feel at home.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**
- Assist in the planning, preparation, implementation and evaluation of the program in keeping with NQF requirements
- Undertake active and safe supervision of children to ensure our duty of care is met at all times
- Record all relevant observations of the children to support future program planning
- Support inclusive practices for children with additional needs alongside their peers
- Provide age-appropriate resources and activities that allow for children to make independent choices and connections

**ABOUT YOU**
- Completed (or close to completion) of relevant qualifications in Childcare or Teaching (Minimum of Diploma in Children’s Services)
- Demonstrated experience in assisting with programming and a passion for providing quality childcare
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining effective administration and correct documentation in an OSHC service
- Hold or be willing to obtain a current First Aid and CPR certification
- Hold a Positive Notice Blue Card or be willing to obtain one
- National Quality Framework knowledge advantageous
