You will work closely with the executive team and provide high level administrative and governance advice the Multicap Board and subsidiary Boards through the provision of Company Secretary duties.
This fulfilling opportunity will enable you to contribute to an inspiring community focused organisation which has a vision to be the leading source of creative and sustainable support options for people with disabilities, particularly those with high and complex needs and their families.
Key responsibilities will be to provide a full suite of legal services to the organisation with a primary focus on legislative interpretation and applicability, mergers and acquisitions, property, privacy, corporate and commercial transactions.
You will develop and implement a panel of preferred legal advisors and manage the outsourcing of legal services when required, including but not limited to the following: legislative interpretation and applicability, tendering, contract and workplace law, dispute resolution, brand and intellectual property rights, occupational health and safety and insurance and liability issues.
The Company Secretary responsibilities will include advising the Chair, Board and Board Committees on governance matters and providing practical guidance and independent advice on director’s duties and responsibilities along with assisting with timely completion and publication of Board and Committee papers.
To be considered you will have experience in Corporate/Commercial law, be a strong relationship builder, communicator and negotiator with experience working with a diverse workforce across multiple locations. You have the ability and resilience in leading responses to complex and emergent events and have knowledge of the Corporations Act, ACNC and ASIC legislation and legal requirements in relation to Board operations and governance processes.
Tertiary legal qualifications and possessing or being able to hold a current practising certificate as an Australian lawyer is essential in addition to Tertiary or post-graduate qualifications in Business, Company Secretariat or experience as a Company Secretary.
