Associate - Legal Entity Controller - 5 Month

Melbourne- Ancillary Areas- Contract or TemporaryOur client is a global US investment bank seeking an Associate - Legal Entity Controller to join their Melbourne team.
A Legal Entity Controller is responsible for the financial and regulatory reporting functions for the firm’s various subsidiaries in Australia.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Preparation of the daily, monthly and annual regulatory capital monitoring and reporting including understanding of the capital calculation rules
- Maintain the books and records of the firms subsidiaries
- Prepare consolidation reporting packages under US GAAP
- Prepare financial statements under relevant local GAAP
- Prepare regulatory and statistical returns to regulators and government agencies
- Ensure that control standards are maintained and documented
- Work closely with other areas within Controllers, both in Australia and globally, as well as other divisions
- Participate in cross-divisional projects for new business initiatives
- Develop a broad understanding of the securities business and financial products
**Key skills/ qualifications required**:
- Solid working knowledge of IFRS and/ or US GAAP qualifications
- Qualified accountant designations
- CPA/ CA required
- Prior banking control experience required
- Experience in using financial reporting tools eg. CaseWare
The ideal applicant will have a **minimum of 5 years of professional accounting or relevant experience**. This role will pay around $400 - $550 per day + super (dependant on experience).
