**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Line Operations Manager, the role is to plan and co-ordinate cost effective cargo stowage and utilisation of ANL and its Consortium Members’ vessels to ensure all safety requirements are met.

**Key responsibilities of the role will include**:
To plan and issue schedules of vessels engaged in designated trades in order to optimize asset utilization. Monitoring and ensuring vessels work through all ports/ terminals in the most expeditious and cost effective manner whilst initiating remedial action in the event of any disruption to the schedule

Co-ordinate and provide technical and cost assistance in the carriage of hazardous, break bulk, over dimensional and awkward cargo, to ensure costs are minimised, ANL exposure to risk is minimised and statutory requirements are met

To pursue operational efficiency and cost saving through continuous improvement

Management of stowage of vessel and obtain vessel specs/stowage struture and vessel limitations from Line ops manager /Vessel when vessel phasing in

Obtain terminal specs/limitations, port limitations, stowage restrictions from Line ops manager

Communicate Schedule Changes (Internal (Line/CF/CR/ Agency) and External (Partners))

Preparing Schedule Recovery Plans (speed ups, port omission, changes to port rotation. Phasing in/out vsls and ad hoc calls as required)

**To be successful for this role, you will need**:
Tertiary qualifications in nautical or business studies or an equivalent level of seagoing Certificate of Competency

Minimum 4-5 years experience in the Operational aspects of the shipping industry preferred

Practical experience in the terminal/shipboard operational aspect of the shipping industry; sea going experience on board containerised vessels would be beneficial

Proficient in use of planning tools (Powerstow, MACS3, Planmaster, Easecon et al.) with micro computer skills and operational knowledge

Sound verbal and written communication skills

Organisational skills with ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and cope with changing circumstances and people

Strong conceptual and analytical skills
