**About Us**: The Division delivers regulatory outcomes to protect Australia from biosecurity and trade risks. We work closely with internal and external stakeholders, employing science and intelligence to set controls, ensure compliance, and respond effectively to breaches. They are responsible for operational coordination, intelligence, and non-compliance response, providing critical insights and support across the division.

**About the Role**: As a Regulatory Officer, you will manage and evaluate biosecurity and imported food risk profiles, ensuring that control vulnerabilities are identified and treated. You will work with policy areas and stakeholders to drive innovative profiling solutions and support decision-making processes.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Develop, deploy, and manage cargo profiles to enforce the department's risk and control settings
- Provide technical support to stakeholders, driving innovative profiling solutions
- Review data to make informed recommendations for stakeholders
- Deliver continuous improvement and develop capabilities/enhancements as necessary
- Provide robust reporting to support decision-making by profile owners and executives
- Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships
- Assist in delivering projects and work activities in line with section and branch plans

**Knowledge and Experience**:

- Knowledge of the biosecurity regulatory environment, including current electronic and physical processes for various import pathways
- High-level communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to make evidence-based decisions
- Proven ability to influence, liaise, consult, and negotiate with a range of stakeholders
- Commitment to continuous improvement and positive change response
- Ability to work independently and manage workload

- Ability to supervise and manage staff, fostering a high-performing team
