We are seeking an Assistant Tech Lead to work as part of an innovative team on the forefront of digital transformation for our Government client

An exciting opportunity is available to be part of an award-winning multi-year initiative to modernise our client's core business systems.

You will play an important role in the Patents Modernisation Initiative which is at the forefront of digital transformation through agile delivery and DevOps approaches.

We require an experienced, pro-active and versatile Assistant Technical Lead to support the transition of our client's processing systems to a new advanced technology stack. You will have a strong technical background in migrating complex IT environments to new platforms and will have deep

understanding of micro-services architecture, AWS, and DevOps practices.

**Under the direction of Delivery Managers and the Technical Lead, you will**:

- Provide technical direction to and supervision of software developers
- Proactively identify and manage technical risks and issues
- Collaborate with delivery managers, solution architects, developers, the cloud lead, and business and data analysts to define appropriate design patterns for development
- Facilitate technical deep dive workshops to explore technical design options
- Document detailed designs at a level sufficient to enable build work to commence, based on agile

user stories and established High Level Design guardrails.
- Facilitate effort estimations for build work, ensuring story points are captured, tracked and refined

based on lessons learnt
- Develop and maintain software release schedules, having regard to code and component dependencies across multiple technologies.
- Establish and maintain high quality software coding standards and instructions
- Perform code review and provide assurance over code quality and security
- Document ‘as-built’ product design details for software deployed to production
- Document technical work instructions that enable production teams to maintain and support the system.
- Applicants are expected to be proactive and motivated to build their corporate knowledge of the complex business and technical areas relevant to their role.
