Adelaide Zoo Operations: The Horticulture Team is currently searching for a General Hand to join the team and assist with the day-to-day operations. The role is being offered on a 6-month contract, Full-Time, then reverting to casual.

**ABOUT THE ROLE...**

This is a full-time contract role with a reversion to casual at the end, working Monday to Friday. You will primarily work across Adelaide Zoo and the Bolivar Bamboo Plantation. The primary purpose of this role is to perform general hand duties at these locations with the Horticulture team, including helping upgrade the Bolivar Bamboo Plantation, pending the arrival of Adelaide Zoo's New Pandas.
- Undertake landscaping, maintenance, and general care of exhibits and grounds.
- Undertake the duties associated with the collection of animal food, foliage and browse, and deliver this material to appropriate areas within the Zoo
- Collect, transport and deliver items to and from the Zoo, including rubbish and waste materials.
- Operating forklifts, sweepers, tractors, vehicles and trucks where licensed and required

**ABOUT YOU**

To be successful in this role, you must have previous General Hand experience assisting trades, be highly practical, and be multi-skilled. You must also hold a current Manual SA Driver’s license and a white card and be able to work unsupervised.

A tractor, forklift, MR or HR license, Working at Heights ticket, and experience working in confined spaces would also be highly desired. You will be required to possess a sound understanding of working to high safety standards and ensuring workplace safety is not compromised.
