**About the role

The role of the First Nations Advanced Health Worker - Child & Family Health is to deliver high level cultural advice and professional and culturally specific support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children accessing the child & family health and development services, including their family, carers, and social/cultural support networks.

The aim of the role is to achieve improved health and developmental outcomes for First Nations children accessing child & family health and child development services, as per the objectives of the West Moreton Health First Nations Health Equity Strategy 2022 - 2025.

About you

High level interpersonal, communication, consultation and negotiation skills and ability to develop effective partnerships within the Health Service and external stakeholders.
Cultural lived experience and understanding of the cultural factors and histories that affect the health and wellbeing of First Nations people today.
The ability to provide effective cultural support to First Nations children & families accessing community child & family health and child development services.
Ability to support multidisciplinary teams to improve their understanding of the Social, Emotional and Well-Being needs of First Nations children and families.
The appropriate clinical skills for the delivery of evidence-based health assessments, health promotion, education and illness prevention activities and primary health care services to First Nations children and their families.

Mandatory Requirements:
Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act of 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
