**About the Role**:
The Department of Education is committed to the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees, students and anyone else involved with our schools and workplaces.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Conduct proactive risk assessments and inspections at multiple workplace sites to identify any hazards and unsafe or unsatisfactory workplace health and safety conditions and practices.
- Develop, promote and coordinate appropriate training on various health and safety topics that will develop awareness and compliance with legislative and departmental health and safety.
- Develop, revise and maintain effective communication links with the school/college Workplace Health and Safety Committees by providing regular reports and feedback on activities including prevention of accidents, promotion of health and safety, risk issues, emergency procedures and amendments to relevant legislation and policies.

Highly desirable skills and experience;
The successful applicant will need to possesses strong organisational skills, be an excellent communicator and have the ability to review processes and develop and implement procedures and action plans in line with the Department's health safety and wellbeing assurance process.
