**Role Description/Criteria**

**The role**
We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Maintenance Officer to join our team at Loreto Toorak. You will assist and support the Property Manager with the maintenance, improvement, safety and security of the Schools physical assets, including the buildings, facilities and grounds, which are used for the provision of the Schools education programs and wider community needs.
Reporting directly to the Property Manager, you will work closely with staff at all levels throughout the school, including external contractors and service providers.
Responsibilities include;
- Ensure all School buildings and facilities, including the grounds, are always safe, well presented and in good order
- Ensure all maintenance requests, through the online maintenance system are prioritised and actioned, through close monitoring
- Ensure all deliveries throughout the school are dispersed in a timely manner and delivered to the appropriate department or area of the school
- Assist with the set up and pack up of school functions and events
- Liaise with and coordinate external contractor works
- Take a proactive role in identifying and reporting any operational health and safety concerns
- When required, carry out the end of day/event final lock-up of all school buildings and doors
- Undertake both preventative and reactive maintenance tasks as required
**About you**
To thrive in this role, you will enjoy providing strong customer service and assist in playing an integral role with the smooth running of the school and general facilities maintenance. Ideally you will have completed a trade qualification, along with having experience working within a building, maintenance, hotel or school environment.
In addition, you will have;
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Demonstrated conflict resolution skills, maintaining a balanced perspective when making decisions
- Customer focused attitude
- An understanding and appreciation of relevant OH&S and Worksafe requirements
- Ability to work flexibly under mínimal supervision
- An eye for detail and finish
- Strong work ethic and proven ability to be a team player
- Sound IT skills and experience with Microsoft Programs
- Proven experience in prioritising multiple works
- A current National Criminal Record Check and Working with Children's Check (Employee) are essential requirements for this role. We also would prefer that you have current First Aid and CPR certificates, however these are not essential.
- This position is full time ongoing. Flexibility required to work on a roster, to cover grounds hours of 7am-7pm, Monday-Friday on a rotating fortnightly basis.
