The Carpentry Trainer is responsible for planning, developing, delivering and assessing quality vocational education and training for international students in a simulated learning environment based in Werribee, VIC

Duties include:
Deliver and coordinate training in accordance with the requirements of the training strategy using training methods that progressively instil knowledge and skills into learners.

Conduct assessment in accordance with the principles of assessment and the designated assessment strategy.

Undertake own professional development activities to continue to develop competence and currency of skills and knowledge. Update Built Training & Education professional development register to provide a true record of professional development and currency.

Contribute to Built Training & Education systematic approach to continuous improvement. This includes identifying opportunities for improvement and acting responsively to implement agreed improvements.

Participate in Built Training & Education assessment moderation and validation activities to promote fair and reliable assessment and to maintain the alignment of assessment activities and materials with industry expectations and training package requirements.

Work with Management to set and achieve teaching and delivery objectives.

Contribute to the development of training and assessment materials when required.

Create an environment that supports and encourages equitable treatment and behaviour from all learners and those contributing to learning and assessment.

Skills and Experience Required:
Current Certificate III in Carpentry

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or higher adult learning qualification.

Relevant and recent industry experience.

Demonstrated understanding of adult learning principles, teaching methodologies and a demonstrated high standard of teaching practice, and a commitment to learner-centred teaching.

Well-developed teaching skills including the ability to select and use a wide range of teaching and assessment strategies appropriate to diverse needs of the student group together with demonstrated effective student management skills.

Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills, and an exemplary professional approach when interacting with excellent written and oral communication skills.

Current Working with Children Check (Employee) and Police Check.

A National Police Check is required for the successful applicant.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Subcontract

Pay: From $70.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
