Community-based mental health plays a vital role in Australia’s healthcare system. With 1 in 5 people experiencing a mental illness in any given year, the demand for mental health support continues to rise. Various socioeconomic factors, such as access to services, living conditions and employment status, can influence someone’s mental health. This impact is not limited to the individual but extends to their families and caregivers. As such, the role of community mental health is to provide all affected individuals with the support they need. Join our Mental Health Community Team at NALHN to make a difference.
As the Team Manager, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and managing a dedicated team of professionals providing high-quality mental health services to the local community. Your strong leadership skills, coupled with your expertise in mental health practice, will be instrumental in ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred care.
In this role, you will:
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to the team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve service delivery and patient outcomes.
- Manage resources effectively, ensuring efficient and effective use of available funding and staff.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging professional development and ongoing learning within the team.
- Collaborate with other health professionals, community organisations, and stakeholders to ensure seamless service integration.
To be eligible for this position at **RN4 classification**, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. Must be enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.

- Holds approved supervisor status with the PsyBA at all levels of supervision.
**For Occupational Therapist**:
- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist, with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
**For Social Workers**:
- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
**About You**:
Are you dedicated, compassionate and enthusiastic looking for an opportunity to join a dynamic, growing healthcare network where you will be part of a supportive team delivering high quality care to the community? If so, then this could be the opportunity for you. This position will offer you professional growth opportunities within a supportive and inclusive culture.
To be successful in this position, you will possess:
- extensive experience in mental health service delivery, with a deep understanding of contemporary best practices.
- proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders.
