**The Opportunity**

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to join our team on an Australian Research Council-funded project. This innovative research aims to develop a cutting-edge framework to understand the intricate relationship between bacterial metabolism and antibiotic resistance in WHO-prioritized bacterial pathogens.

As a key contributor, you will engage in microbiological and pharmacological research activities, focusing on bioinformatics analysis of metabolomics and lipidomics data, metabolic flux analysis, and integration of multi-omics datasets. You will also assist in developing bioinformatic tools and participate in broader research and communication activities within the research group and the Biomedicine Discovery Institute.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Conduct high-quality research under limited supervision, contributing to publications, conference presentations, and seminars
- Perform bioinformatic analysis of metabolomics and lipidomics data and develop tools for multi-omics dataset integration
- Engage in experimental design and operate advanced laboratory equipment
- Contribute to professional activities, including attendance at relevant conferences and seminars
- Collaborate with team members and provide advice to postgraduate students in the field
- Maintain limited administrative functions connected to the research project

**About You**

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

- A doctoral qualification (or near completion) in a relevant discipline or closely related field
- Expertise in metabolomics, bioinformatics, and data science
- Proven analytical and manuscript preparation skills with a strong track record of refereed research publications
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear and concise reports
- A collaborative approach and a commitment to working collegially with team members
