The Queensland Government is committed to the National Agreement on Closing the Gap to improve the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians by ensuring we work in partnership with First Nations Australians to deliver change.
You will support the Queensland Police Service (QPS) and lead the First Nations Command in reframing our relationships with First Nations peoples, communities, and organisations, address the over-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the Queensland's criminal justice system and operationalise the relevant recommendations from A Call for Change: Commission of Inquiry into QPS responses to domestic and family violence.You will work closely with the Commissioner and other members of the QPS Executive Leadership Team to identify, prioritise and drive strategies to embed strong collaborative partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, organisations and communities to achieve long-term generational changes and improve service delivery and outcomes for First Nations Australians.
