**About the Branch**

The Northern Endeavour Branch was established in March 2020 to implement the Government’s long term handling strategy for the decommissioning of the Northern Endeavour Floating Production, Storage and Offtake (FPSO) facility and remediation of associated oil fields.

Companies must decommission oil and gas wells, pipelines and other infrastructure no longer needed or in use. Decommissioning activities like plugging and abandoning wells, removing property and rehabilitating sites must be done in a safe and environmentally responsible way. The Government’s commitment to decommission the Northern Endeavour FPSO follows the liquidation of the Northern Endeavour Owner - the Northern Oil and Gas Australia (NOGA) group of companies in 2019.

Decommissioning and remediation will likely take several years and involve 3 phases:

- Phase 1: Decommissioning and disconnecting the facility from the subsea equipment
- Phase 2: Permanent plugging and well abandonment
- Phase 3: Removing subsea infrastructure and remediation of the Laminaria and Corallina fields.

**About the Team**

We are a small team and fully engaged with our internal and external stakeholders, supporting strategic decision making, reporting, planning, commercial and policy arrangements in an exciting and complex environment. Working in Projects and assisting all other work streams (technical, operational and government/policy) allows our team to engage in more than just report writing. We contribute to and understand the risks, regulations and strategic intent of the Northern Endeavour and the successful decommissioning of the FPSO.

We are eager to explore opportunities for process transformation, new technologies and improvements to ensure our Executive are kept up to date and informed across all facets of the Projects, with providing a value adding service to our stakeholders.

The **Phase 1 Project Section** handles setting the direction for delivering Phase 1 of the Northern Endeavour decommissioning project and outcomes, including:

- Transition planning
- Project and contract management
- Associated regulatory approvals

The Phase 1 Project section will work close with the Program Management Office (PMO) which is a centralised hub for the long-term handling strategy for the Northern Endeavour decommissioning program. PMO provides a defined structure that standardises and streamlines governance and processes. It facilitates the sharing of resources, tools and techniques across the Program. The PMO team supports the project teams in their work, providing guidance where required to ensure outputs are aligned with agreed Program deliverables. This includes:

- Management of the Northern Endeavour Integrated Management Schedule
- Governance and Assurance Framework
- Program budget and Program reporting
- Providing secretariat services to multiple governance bodies.

The team will also lead the development of key Project artefacts associated with project delivery in conjunction with technical decommissioning advice.

**About the role**

The Program Support Officer is responsible for providing assistance and support to Northern Endeavour Management.
