**The Opportunity**:
As an Instrument Laboratory Manager, you will have the opportunity to join a dynamic mineral analysis team and work alongside market leading experts. You will play a crucial role in the company's success, responsible for supervising and delivering critical production activities.

**LabWest** is an independent minerals analysis facility established in 2008 in Western Australia by a small group of investors. The company's leadership team have more than 80 years of experience in minerals analysis, having worked for major mining companies and commercial laboratories.
**LabWest** has built a global reputation in the mineral processing industry with a world-class facility and technology located in Malaga, Western Australia.
**LabWest** specialises in geochemical analysis and uses clean environments and careful sample handling practices to provide contamination-free preparation and low-detection limit elemental determinations.

**About the Role**
Reporting to the Managing Director you will:

- Oversee Quality control of data by Senior Chemists.
- Oversee production and instrument management for efficient sample processing.
- Assist the Principal Scientist with maintaining **LabWest** technical procedures.
- Implement continuous improvement program and identify areas of development.
- Ensure proactive and planned preventative maintenance of equipment.
- Exercise professional judgment in the evaluation and modification of production processes.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to maintain quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Review reports for accuracy and compliance with professional standards.
- Support Senior Chemists, Instrument Chemists and Technicians when complex problems arise.
- Uphold **LabWest** business policies, including safety and ethical standards.

**About You**
To be successful in the role, you should be able to demonstrate the following attributes.
- Tertiary qualifications in Chemistry or science related field.
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- 5 years’ people supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated experience in an environment where a high level of attention to detail is required.
