About Burnside State High School
Burnside State High School is located in the township of Nambour on the Sunshine Coast. The major focus of Burnside is relationships. We place a priority on quality relationships and this emphasis has provided the key ingredient for its outstanding success across all year levels. People work hard at getting on together and because we are a small school it is easier to monitor student progress and provide support. Burnside is the proud winner of numerous awards and has hosted many international educators on fact finding visits. About the Role
As the Head of Special Education Services you will have demonstrated the capacity to lead and be responsible for:
Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program.
Lead and manage the Special Education Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed.
Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention.
Provide, support and/or coordinate case management for students who require extensive or substantial adjustments.
Support classroom teachers and other school staff to access departmental or other external specialist services, professional development, and supports as needed.
