About Us
The Queensland Children's Hospital School (known also as QCHS) and its regional hospital program partners offer world class educational programs to school-aged children affected by hospitalisation, including patients and family members of hospitalised patients across Queensland to ensure educational continuity for all.
QCH School offers programs for students from Kindy to Year 12 and includes students from the state, Catholic and independent sectors. Students at QCHS present with a range of medical, developmental, behavioural, emotional and mental health conditions. As leaders in inclusion, differentiation is a strong feature of every teacher's practice.
About the RoleThis position is based at the Queensland Children's Hospital in South Brisbane and forms part of the executive leadership team at the QCHS. The successful applicant will need to be committed to embedding the Department of Education's Equity and Excellence strategy.The Head of Campus, QCHS will:
- Lead the teaching and learning programs at QCHS
- Be responsible for 5 campuses of QCHS, being:
- Junior Campus (Salmon Building, Mater Brisbane - Prep to Year 4)
- Middle - Senior Campus (Level 8, QCH - Year 5 to Year 12)
- Virtual Hospital Education Program (located at Coorparoo)
- Act for Kids Early Education Program (located at Wooloowin)
- Ipswich Hospital paediatric ward
- Work closely with Department of Health senior staff (as part of the Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service) to develop positive working partnerships
- Work in collaboration with Metropolitan South Region's staff and schools
- Partner with a range of internal and external agencies
- Lead the recruitment processes for education staff at QCH
- Work with the Executive Principal and Senior Leadership Team of QCHS to plan and deliver hospital education programs across Queensland.

- Demonstrated qualities to support young people who present with challenges
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a large leadership team
- Commitment to supporting staff and student wellbeing
- Commitment to working with internal and external agencies and forming positive partnerships
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
