Machinery Supervisors

Zerella Fresh is one of Australia’s largest grower and packers of Carrots, Onions and Potatoes supplying Australia’s leading supermarket chains plus independents and exports.
We are currently seeking experienced and motivated MACHINERY SUPERVISORS to join our team on a full-time permanent basis, supporting operations at our Virginia site in South Australia.

**Duties include but not limited to**:
- Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment start-up and operation.
- Conduct daily inspections and preventative maintenance and report deficiencies to supervisors or the maintenance department.
- Supervise, assign duties, and coordinate workers involved in the manual grading of potatoes, onions and carrots, and the operation of the associated machinery.
- Monitor the production process and carry out basic testing and quality checks.
- Adjust machine controls whilst monitoring the production process to ensure quality production and mínimal unplanned stops.
- Ensure adequate supplies and materials are available plus assign work to complete orders as needed.
- Adjust machine as required for changeovers, or other varying needs of production.
- Prepare work schedules, assign work, and oversees the work of assigned Machine Operators.
- Prepare production reports on machinery performance including check weighers.
- General machine cleaning and upkeep is performed as per the Standard Operating Procedures.
- Work area is kept clean and free of debris, trash, and excess material.
- Perform basic machinery maintenance. All other requirements as directed to achieve business objectives.
**Requirements**:
- Diploma in a relevant field plus at least 2 years relevant work experience OR at least 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience in a food packaging or processing environment.
- Experience in the processing of potato, carrot, and onion products (desirable).
- Experience operating machines, with the ability to resolve minor mechanical problems (desirable).
- Unrestricted Class C Drivers Licence.
- High Risk Work Licence (essential).
- Cultural adaptability and a willingness to work with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- A willingness to be hands on and participate in a broad range of duties, a strong work ethic is essential.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to problem-solve.
- Respect for others and pride in team’s performance.

This position will require weekend and night work in line with production demands.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
